Have you snapped a memorable image of the Gladstone Region within the last 12 months? Don’t leave them on your memory card or smartphone; enter them into the 2017 Intercity Images: Gladstone Saiki Photographic Exchange!
Intercity Images is an annual cultural exchange between the citizens of the Gladstone Region and Saiki City, Japan, celebrating the unique lifestyle, people and environment of the two Sister Cities.
The call for 2017 entries is now open to local photographers of all ages and apertures – we mean abilities. Take the opportunity today to submit up to two images each.
Get your entries together quickly as submissions close 4pm, Saturday 11 February 2017. Zoom into the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum to collect a copy of the entry form, or download one from http://gragm.qld.gov.au
All eligible entries will be exhibited at the Gallery & Museum, 4 March – 29 April 2017. From this exhibition, 30 finalist images will be selected by a panel of judges and sent to Saiki City for display in June. The selected photographs will then return to the Gallery & Museum in August for the Combined Images exhibition that also features images from Saiki City citizens.
The photographers of the 30 finalist images will each receive certificates for their achievement at the official launch of the upcoming exhibition, held 6pm, 3 March 2017, at the Gallery & Museum.
Now in its 15th year, Intercity Images is a Gladstone Saiki Sister City Advisory Committee initiative, supported by Gladstone Regional Council.
