Awoonga Dam has gone over the spillway. It was expected with the amount of rain we have had but residents should be aware.

UPDATE: As at 12noon the level at Lake Awoonga’s Dam Capacity is at 102%. At 40.06m and is just breaching the spillway.

Water levels are likely to peak at 41.07m by 8am tomorrow (Friday).  Rain has eased, however there has been significant falls in the upper catchment with streams yet to peak.

GAWB staff are monitoring inflows and will continue to keep the Gladstone Local Disaster Management Group and local residents advised.
