The Central Queensland branch of M.A.C.E. (Motorcyclists Advocating Child Empowerment) are holding a fund-raising ride to Rockhampton and Yeppoon for Bella the Brave on Saturday 7 July.
Gladstone toddler Bella Bates was diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer, known as anaplastic ependymoma at 13 months of age. Since her diagnosis, Bella has undergone 8 brain surgeries and multiple rounds of high dose chemotherapy and has spent much of her early life as a patient at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital.
Last year her cancer returned, and Bella’s family sought the expertise of Dr Charlie Teo who operated on Bella in October 2017 and successfully removed the tumour.
The cost of this life-saving surgery was substantial to say the least, however no amount of money can outweigh the joy of Bella’s continued survival as well as so many other young children who are being diagnosed with brain cancer.
You can join the fun a fellowship at registration from 7.30 am at Harbour City Harley Davidson in Gladstone. The ride stands up at 9.30 am, ride to Rockhampton and meet up at Rocky Harley Davidson, then on to the Pine Beach Hotel at Emu Park for lunch and raffle draws.
Registration costs $25 per bike/car, additional patches for sale on the day for $5 with wristbands for $2. All money raised will be donated to Bella the Brave – Fighting Childhood Cancer.
