GLADSTONE’S elite and aspiring BMX Stars will be utilising the Pump Track for training and demonstrations this weekend.
While this means use of the facility will be off the cards, the public are highly encouraged to come and watch the track being utilised to its maximum potential.
This weekend will see the formation of the Central Queensland Development Squad, with riders hailing from Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Biloela and Gladstone.
Bruce Crow, President of Harbour City BMX Club, said the locals are holding their own against rivals across Queensland.
“It’s a big event for the year and we strongly encourage the public to come check out our riders in action,” he said.
“We have a great variety, great support and definitely the best facility to showcase.”
Locals can view the demonstrations from 4-6pm on Friday Febryary 17, and between the hours of 8-10am on Saturday February 18.
So while you may have to leave your bikes at home, the community is encouraged to come and view the track being used to its greatest potential and envied by the rest of Central QLD.
