Elders Gladstone have been serving the local community for many years. The business first started selling homes in Gladstone in 2001. Initially just employing now Principal Agent Colin Burke and a receptionist. From these humble beginnings, the company has grown to now employ 18 staff.
Colin’s wife Mary Carlyon joined the business 6 years ago as the Manager of the Property Management section. Mary has a background as a Banker and Financial Planner and fully understands the difficulties that property owners face in a market downturn and has been able to use her skills to help many landlords.
Colin, who was there when the doors first opened said the Elders Gladstone team had developed to become one of the most experienced in the region. “We now have a very experienced team in both Property Management and Sales, and we are looking for new properties urgently to rent and to sell.”
“We are looking for houses to lease,” Property Manager Mary said. “Our vacancy rate is under 2% at the moment and it has been consistently at least 2% below the published figures for Gladstone for the last couple of years – even when the vacancy rate was high. We have created a very stable and knowledgeable team who keep up to date with all of the latest training. Our team now has a process that can easily handle new management and get great outcomes for our clients.”
Mary believes that the lessons learnt in the downturn have helped her to build a team that can respond to any property management request very quickly. The Sales team is made up of the Principal-Agent Colin, and the Watts family, Julie, Graeme and Luke. “Julie has been with us since 2004, Graeme joined in 2006 and Luke started in 2007, along with myself (who has been in real estate since 1984), I am pretty sure that makes us the most stable real estate sales team in Gladstone. Our experience gives us a combined 70 + years of real estate knowledge,” Colin explained.
