Yoga is a practice that can help us become stronger, relax, de-stress and centre ourselves. For Gladstone residents, each month you can do so under the Full Moon while supporting a local worthy cause.
Each month, Salt Power Yoga hosts Full Moon Yoga in the Park and asks those that attend to contribute a small donation which goes towards a charity. Each month organisers and attendees decide on a local cause to assist. Last month, funds raised went towards Project Golden Boot which helped orphan children in the Philippines reach their goal of attending the Street World Soccer Tournament. Paul Charalambous of Salt Power Yoga said that these events have been very successful with well over $3000 raised so far, and over 100 attendees for some events.
This month’s event will support the family of Justin Boyce, who tragically died recently in a car accident on the way home from work. If you would like to attend, make a donation, connect with your body, our community and with nature, stop by this Friday night. Full Moon Yoga in the Park will be held on the 19th of August, 6pm at the Marina Parklands and is suitable for all ability levels.
If you are unable to attend and would still like to make a donation, you can contribute at www.gofundme.com/2hrq3g8s
