Messy Church is a fun event that the Lutheran Church Gladstone hold regularly at St. Stephens. It is a fun family service that begins with creative activities followed by a talk and singing, and finished up with a sit down meal for everyone. The afternoon is for the whole family, and the idea is for parents to come along with their children and share in the creative (and MESSY) celebration.
Messy Church isn’t a new random idea, it’s an established and successful formula. It began with an English initiative to help families connect to the church in a more relaxed, fun, and creative way. It also allowed families to discuss Bible topics in a friendly environment.
The next Messy Church is this Sunday 20th of March (TOMORROW) from 4-6pm and you can find more information at their Messy Church Gladstone Facebook page.
You can also donate craft supplies to help out with the event. Messy Church Gladstone is currently in need of medium and long cardboard rolls (e.g. from a paper towel, or roll of wrapping paper) NOT toilet rolls, and disposable paper or plastic plates (they have to be clean).
