Queenslanders who have been dreaming of adopting their own Toto will soon be able to follow the yellow brick road from RSPCA Queensland, back to their home with a trial rescue animal.
The cast of Andrew Lloyd Weber and Tim Rice’s production of The Wizard of Oz will be helping RSPCA Queensland launch its “No Place Like Home” adoption promotion, which will run from November 4 to 12, coinciding with the opening week of this much-loved musical.
This initiative will allow people to ‘trial’ an adult RSPCA dog – or cat – for 30 days, before paying a reduced adoption fee: “If they choose to adopt upon completion of the trial, they will only have to pay a low fee of $50.
The proceeds from ticket sales already raised from the charity performance on November 4 will go towards improving the quality of lives for RSPCA animals.
The public will have the opportunity on opening night, to meet RSPCA dogs before the musical commences.
