Our Gladstone Schools and District Chaplaincy is indeed blessed to live in such a supportive community.
In 2016, the S.T.E.P.S (Stroke) group reached beyond their own challenges to support youth in our region through School Chaplaincy.
This is particularly poignant because people who have a sincere desire to help others don’t need to have their life “picture perfect” themselves. Helping someone is about seeing where they are stuck, and helping them get over the hurdle.
For teenagers, it is essential that not only parents be involved, but the wider community also. The saying that “it takes a whole village to raise a child” is true. Teenagers need positive mentors in their lives, a listening ear and someone to help point them in the right direction.
School Chaplains are helping to fulfil these roles. Evidence (sadly) shows that mental health is becoming a greater concern for an increasing number of people in recent years.
Individuals and groups within our local community who actively and financially support youth are being part of the solution in making our local area a great area to live in.
Thank you again to them for their generous support!
