10 Jul Gladstone’s Port City Power welcome APLNG as their major sponsor
On Tuesday July 3 Gladstone’s Port City Power welcomed Australia Pacific LNG as its major sponsor for the 2018-2020 Queensland Basketball League seasons. The sponsorship will be managed by Australia Pacific LNG’s downstream operator ConocoPhillips.
“As the Gladstone Port City Power club continues to grow in Gladstone and Queensland it’s important that we build strong relationships with businesses that hold the same values as we do, and for that reason, Australian Pacific LNG is a great match,” Gladstone’s Port City Power’s Chairperson Alison Murdoch said.
Alison said the club is looking forward to growing junior and club basketball in the region with the support of APLNG. She said the QBL side had gone through a period of renewal this year and were hungry for success in the remainder of the season.
ConocoPhillips’ Community Relations Manager, Rob Gibb said: “We’ve been proud supporters of Gladstone Port City Power for a number of years and on and off the court we see the value that the club brings to the community.”
“We look forward to being the major sponsor for the Gladstone Port City Power, and are eager to cheer them on from the sidelines.”
As part of the sponsorship, Gladstone Port City Power will continue their strong community engagement program in promoting healthy and active lifestyles in primary and high schools in the Gladstone region.
School holiday basketball programs were in progress during the sponsor’s launch, with young players keen to get expert coaching from Gladstone Port City Power players.
ConocoPhillips is the operator of the Australia Pacific LNG facility on Curtis Island. Australia Pacific LNG is one of the leading suppliers of natural gas on the east coast of Australia providing gas to domestic and export markets.
