13 Feb One great year for Gladstone and Glenn Butcher
Gladstone News is celebrating Glenn Butcher’s first year as State Member by looking at the highlights and accomplishments Glenn has made so far:
$60 M for a Calliope High School with the doors to open in 4 years.
$42 M for a new Accident & Emergency Department at the Gladstone Hospital with construction to start next year.
$3.7 M for domestic and family violence support services at Gladstone Women’s Health Centre.
$3.3 M to better road infrastructure in the west of the electorate and make it more resilient to cyclone or flooding events.
Over $1.6 m in community grants that have benefited over 40 local clubs, organisations and not for profit groups.
Investing in Education with $1.2 M in much needed school maintenance projects, $6 M for new classrooms at Calliope Primary School, $250 K for refurbishments at Rosella Park School & new flashing lights at Kin Kora, St John’s, Toolooa High & Gladstone State High.
Investing to keep the community safer with, 9 new police recruits for the Gladstone Region, $780 K CCTV upgrade at the Gladstone Watch House & plans well underway to tackle alcohol fuelled violence in our community.
Now these are some big achievements for our Region.
