A successful Grant application resulted in a great outcome for bubs and mums attending a local playgroup.
A cheque of $3,314.30 was presented to Lucy Simpson of Calliope Playgroup and Debbie Flaherty, Regional Representative of Playgroup Queensland Ltd. in recognition of the importance of developing facilities for young children.
The generous donor was the Calliope & District Enterprises Ltd, whose profits go back into the local community by way of shareholders dividends, grant, sponsorship and donations. After 7 years in business, this has amounted to more than $1.1 million.
The profits are going to great causes, with none more worthy that this most recent Grant to Gladstone playgroups, a fundamental part of young children’s development and mum’s sanities! The funds will go to new toys and equipment, with the playgroups volunteers and members thrilled at the prospect of new facilities for their little ones. If you’d like to join in all the fun, the playgroup meets weekly at the Calliope RSL Hall with all families welcome.
Applications through the Calliope & District Enterprises Ltd for grants, sponsorships and donations can be made by any member of the Community. All eligible organisations are encouraged to approach this community-based enterprise.
