After struggling finding suitable maternity clothes that were still suitable for breast support, colourful and stylish, Lani Small took it upon herself to create her own range of maternity wear, while pregnant with her second child.

Having recently moved to Gladstone from Port Hedland for her husband’s career, Lani believes that Central Queensland is the perfect market for her brand, Malt. Her range, “Night to Day” can be worn while pregnant and postpartum as they are breastfeeding friendly and offer breast support. Being pregnant with her second child, owner, Lani knows the struggle of being a new mum, dealing with unexpected visitors, sleepless nights and the struggle of balancing life.

“I started the business when my son never slept, and I spent most of my time in pajamas. I lived in my husband’s old daggy shirts and hated my new post baby body. I tried to find bright, colorful products that I could live in 24/7 and couldn’t, so my Mum suggested I just make some. I then refined the idea. My mum (who everyone calls Nonna) and I run the business and my husband helps out.

The range comes in a variety of bright fun colours and patterns that are suited to the Queensland Lifestyle and are made out of breathable fabrics. They have been designed so that you can wear them during the day, and no one will know you are still wearing your pajamas. If mums have had a rough night with a newborn, but still need to do the school run, pop down to the supermarket, or get an unexpected guests, they can rush around wearing their Malt Maternity pajamas.

Lani says: “Grab you sunnies and shoes and no one will know that you are wearing pajamas.
