Nominations are now open for young residents to attend Gladstone Regional Council’s 2018 Mayor’s Youth Breakfast.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said community members were urged to identify and nominate regional residents, aged 12 to 24 to be recognised for their efforts.
The invitation-only breakfast will be held on Friday, April 13 as part of Council’s 2018 Youth Week activities.
“Attendees will be recognised for their achievements or contributions and involvement in our community,” Councillor Burnett said.
“Young residents can be nominated for their leadership abilities, sport, cultural or academic achievements, employment accomplishments, or for their involvement in volunteering, mentoring or fundraising.”
Nominees will receive a certificate and recognition in front of their peers. “The breakfast will acknowledge and thank young residents for their community efforts with Gladstone Region Councillors, Gladstone Region Youth Council members and invited guests in attendance,” Cr Trevor said.
Nominations close on March 23 and nominees will then receive an invitation to the breakfast detailing the venue and time.
“The nomination process only takes a few minutes to complete with basic information required about the nominee’s achievements,” Cr Trevor said.
Nomination forms are available on Council’s website at www.gladstone.qld.gov.au/youth-eventsand-activities For further details contact Council’s Youth Development Officer Vernetta Perrett on 4976 6311 or email Vernetta.Perrett@gladstone.qld.gov.au
