A DOMINATING ICON OF OUR REGION, GLADSTONE PORT IS A GATEWAY, A WORKPLACE, AND A LIFEBLOOD.
The largest commercial port in Queensland will be honoured through artistic celebration in GPC’s upcoming Paint the Port exhibition.
Rowen Winsor from GPC said the reintroduction of the competition after a 7-year hiatus had demonstrated not only the enormous artistic talent within Gladstone, but the contrasting value of the Port.
“More than 30 emerging and professional artists from across the region participated in our 2016 competition,” she said. “We saw a variety of impressions of the port… including our natural deep water harbour, coal-handling facilities, port development and our beautiful Marina parklands.”
Entries will form part of an exhibition to be showcased at the CQU Marina parklands facility will be on display at the 2017 Gladstone Harbour Festival.
To submit your artwork, head to the GPC website to complete an online registration form before March 31. The artwork is to be submitted to the Leo Zussino Building at CQU Gladstone no later than 3:00pm on April 7.
