Many of us hold dreams of cycling for a good cause. We see friends or colleagues who have participated in a ride for a cause and returned excited and proud to have met their own personal challenge while fundraising for charity.
The Many Peaks to Yarwun Tour de Chaplain is to be held on the 23rd July 2016, this may be the perfect chance for you to pedal for a purpose.
There are many great reasons for joining the Tour de Chaplain: the camaraderie and friendships formed on an organised group ride; the sense of pride in completing the ride; or even the picturesque 100K journey.
Now before you get scared off at the sound of 100K – the ride is completely at your own pace with regular drink and snack stops. The energy and excitement felt by fellow cyclists in the group will keep everyone motivated to do the distance.
There is a BBQ lunch provided along the way and celebrations including sausage sizzle and raffle prizes at the end of the ride.
The Tour de Chaplain is a community ride that will help raise awareness and funds for School Chaplaincy in our local district. There are currently 11 Chaplains who need our support to keep them working across 14 State Schools in our district. All Funds raised offer hope to the future of young people by empowering those who need a listening ear.
You can get involved by registering to ride, sponsoring riders, team or the tour. For more information visit http://gladstoneschoolschaplaincy.org.au/tour-de-chaplain/
