Have you overstayed an Australian visa or is your visa due to expire soon? Government help is available locally this Wednesday…
The Status Resolution team from the Department of Immigration is visiting Gladstone this week, Wednesday, June 6 from 9.00 am to 3.30 pm at the Centrelink Gladstone Service Centre, 164 Goondoon Street.
The team works with people in Australia who have overstayed their visa, or who have been granted a Bridging Visa E (BVE) while they resolve an immigration matter.
The SRS team can then provide clear and personally relevant information about a person’s status and their options.
Status Resolution Officers will set up shopfront in Emerald, Rockhampton and Gladstone, with the aim of engaging and answering clients’ questions who are unable to visit the Brisbane office due to distance.
Their visit is solely for the purpose of engaging with those in the community who no longer hold a visa, or whose visa is due to expire soon. They have no intention of detaining anyone.
