RSVP by April 28 to attend a free Recognition Breakfast for volunteers
Organisations across the Gladstone Region are reminded to register their volunteers by next Friday (April 28) to attend one of three free Recognition Breakfasts.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said Gladstone Regional Council, supported by key community groups, would host breakfasts in Gladstone, Seventeen Seventy and Miriam Vale to celebrate National Volunteer Week 2017.
The three free events will be held in May but for catering purposes RSVPs are required by April 28.
Councillor Burnett said the breakfasts would provide an opportunity for organisations and groups to have their volunteers acknowledged and thanked publically for their efforts.
“Our Recognition Breakfasts have grown annually to become highly anticipated events which celebrate and acknowledge the many and varied contributions made by volunteers within our communities,” Cr Burnett said.
“These special events give thanks to our residents who willingly, generously and often humbly offer their time and skills to assist others.
“The contribution of each and every volunteer within our communities is extremely valuable and their assistance is greatly appreciated.”
Recognition Breakfasts will be held from 7am on:
• Monday, May 8 at the Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre, Gladstone;
• Wednesday, May 10 at Sandcastles Motel & Resort, Seventeen Seventy; and
• Thursday, May 11 at Miriam Vale Community Centre, Miriam Vale.
Individuals or members of regional organisations or groups are asked to indicate their interest in attending by phoning Council’s Community Development Officer Andrea Hughes on 4976 6300 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
