Next Friday is the opening night of the Capricorn Film Festival right here in Gladstone. The Festival, which is an annual event for our local filmmakers and movie buffs, is set to be bigger and better than ever.
The #capfilmfest gives residents the chance to support filmmakers from around the region and from all over the world. It is also a fun weekend for the whole family, and the chance to enjoy a variety of films on picnic blankets under the stars. The event rivals film festivals from big cities and provides the Gladstone public with a stimulating way to spend the weekend.
Shortlisted entry films are screened throughout the weekend with a total prize pool of over $6,000 awarded between the winners of each category as judged by a panel of celebrity judges. Celebrity judges include Home & Away actor Charlie Clausen and ‘800 Words’ actress Melina Vidler.
We recommend you arrive early to lay out your picnic blanket for a stunning evening with family and friends celebrating a new and diverse array of filmmakers from Central Queensland to around the globe. Each person entering the festival receives a ticket for lucky door prizes including gift packs, meals and giveaways that will be drawn at the conclusion of the awards ceremony.
FOOD AND DRINK VANS WILL BE OPERATING THROUGHOUT THE EVENT.
#CAPFILMFEST IS A FREE COMMUNITY EVENT, HOWEVER VIP TENT PASS TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE FOR $275 FOR THE WHOLE WEEKEND.
