14th December – Moonlight Movies – Sherlock Gnomes Screening @ Gladstone Marina, starting at 6.30pm. Call your friends, grab a blanket and don’t forget the snacks – Moonlight Movies are back! Starting mid-December, screenings of the latest family-friendly blockbuster hits will be screened across the region. Nestled up in front of the big blow-up movie screen, this is a family fun night you won’t want to miss. There is no cost for entry – and if you do forget your snacks, don’t stress! There will be multiple food vendors at each of the locations to settle that rumbling tummy.
14th December – Gladstone Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) is hosting Christmas Carols & Markets. The event will be held at GABA on Side Street from 5pm. Local soloists and local kindergartens will be performing. There will be market stalls and kids rides along with the Canteen and Bar. Lucky door prizes and raffles will also be available. 15th December – Join Curtis Ferry Services for a Moonlight Dinner Cruise on board the Curtis Endeavor. There will be a fully licenced bar and all your favourite live party music. Canapes style dinner on board. Experience the harbour from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. Contact Curtis Ferry Services for bookings.
15th December – Avoid the Xmas chaos and enjoy a relaxed and unique shopping experience this festive season in the CBD!! On Saturday 15th December from 9am till 1pm join in the CBD Retail Precinct, Goondoon Street – Xmas Block Party. Purchase from participating stores between 3rd – 15th December and go into the draw to win the fabulous Xmas Raffle, a $50 gift voucher from each participating CBD Retailer. Raffle will be drawn at 12pm Saturday 15th December. There will be a free sausage sizzle sponsored by R.M Williams Gladstone and exclusive in-store promotions.
15th December – Take the family to the races for a great day out at Ferguson Park for the 2018 Family Fun Day. There are 5 local races on the card as well as plenty of fun for the kids including jumping castle, guinea pig petting zoo plus much more! All children will receive a card upon entry, entitling them to a drink and something to eat from the canteen. Book a table or get a group together and set yourselves up under one of our trackside marquees. Bar, bookies and canteen will be operating as usual.
15th December – Hectic Skids come try day @ Gladstone Auto Club & Speedway, Jono Porter Drive, Benaraby. Gates open at 1pm. Junior and novices welcome. 11yo and older must be accompanied by an adult with an open license. Long sleeves/long pants/covered in shoes and a helmet are all mandatory for anyone in a vehicle on the pad or travelling to and from the pad. Vehicles will be checked, all wheel weights must be removed from all rear wheels. Hand break must be operable. This is a fun non-competition day. Bring whatever you want to skid! Cars, bikes and 4×4. $40 to get on the pad, $10pp for spectators or pit crew. Food, drinks & bar. Eftpos available.
16th December – CQ Emergency Services Appreciation Day – Come down to The Rocky Glen Hotel Motel from 10am to show your support and say thank you to all of the Emergency Services personnel for protecting our communities. Live music with Gridlock, Seven Ten Split and The Mason Rack Band on the outdoor stage. Charity Auction with Ros Waters from RE/MAX Energy Boyne Island. Heaps of raffles, meat trays and hams. 16th December – The Gladstone CBD Entertainment Precinct will burst into life with a huge Christmas in the City Free Gladstone Community Event. There will be 3 Carols Services in the Auditorium, Hampers of Hope presented by the Salvation Army and children’s gifts. Tickets must be booked through the GECC box office to secure time and seats for the FREE carols service. Come together and celebrate. Bring the whole family for this FREE community event.
17th December – Boyne Tannum Arts Business & Community Association Inc are hosting their Annual General Meeting at Kalori Conference Centre in Tannum Sands. The meeting starts at 6pm. All BTABC and BAM volunteers are welcome to attend.

24th December – Santa is coming to Lake Awoonga! Santa told Roxy and Nudge he had such a great time last year he will be visiting Lake Awoonga again this year. The man in red will be arriving at 4pm. Enjoy some fun on the water on Christmas Eve!
