In case you haven’t heard of Mia Freedman she is a media powerhouse she has over 25 years experience in the media at age 24, she was the youngest editor of Cosmopolitan’s 58 international editions, she has since gone on to launch the wildly successful Mamamia website.
I was excited to get my hands on this book and get an insight into Mia Freedman’s success, but what I found wasn’t a well-concocted formula to success it was quite the opposite it was a candid insight into Mia’s life and all the ups and downs that have come with her journey.
I found it refreshing and also very validating to read that a woman who is often told she has it all barely has it together. I think it’s so important for us as women to read this book because let’s be honest we are creatures of comparison and Mia puts it all out there warts and all, in fact in one chapter she even hands over the book to her son Luca who writes a very honest account of what she is like as a mother and spoiler alert it isn’t all rainbows and flowers and that’s totally fine with me!
Mia also doesn’t shy away from other heavy topics such as abortion and the breakdown of her marriage the book isn’t all doom and gloom its just REAL and as I said before refreshing it is also peppered with great advice and gems of wisdom that Mia has gained through her amazing career.
I can’t recommend it enough – four out of five stars from me!
