ONE IN THREE AUSTRALIANS WILL NEED BLOOD OR BLOOD PRODUCTS IN THEIR LIFETIME YET ONLY ONE IN THIRTY DONATE BLOOD.

There is no substitute for blood and we need blood of every type, every day to save the lives of thousands of Australians. One blood donation can save up to 3 lives and around one-third of donations are used to treat cancer patients.

The need for blood and blood products is not going to diminish, especially plasma products. Plasma is a blood component, which helps make 18 different products including immunisations for Chicken Pox, Tetanus and Measles.

Australia needs 25,000 blood donations each week. Gladstone needs over 150 blood donations every week to meet demand.

The Australian Red Cross Blood Service Donor Centre is looking for 50 new donors each month. Most people between the ages of 16-70, who are over 50kg and generally well will be able to donate blood. It only takes an hour of your time!

There are more than 120 appointments available in Gladstone over the next 3 weeks. Call now on 13 14 95 to book an appointment.
