11 Oct National Safe Work Month with Shane Webcke
The health and well-being of Gladstone’s workforce is a primary focus of the Gladstone Industry Leadership Group (GILG) and its members.
GILG is therefore proud to sponsor the Gladstone Safe Work Month breakfast forum which has been organised by Queensland Health. On Friday 28 October 2016, football legend and sports presenter Shane Webcke will be at the breakfast in his role as Queensland Safety Ambassador.
Shane has a strong connection and commitment to work safety as his father was killed in a workplace incident.
“I lost my dad in a workplace incident, so I know first-hand that family and loved ones are the most important reason for work safety.”
At Gladstone’s Safe Work Month event, he will tell participants about how his father’s death impacted his family, and offer his personal perspective on the importance of staying safe at work and creating a strong safety culture.
Keynote speaker Paul Spinks and journalist, author and commentator Madonna King will join Shane in focusing the event’s discussions on the themes of leadership, culture and return on investment.
Gladstone’s business leaders and work health and safety professionals are encouraged and invited to attend the Safe Work Month breakfast.
