On Saturday, November 30, 2024, more than 200 attendees gathered at Trinity College Oval for a remarkable event that brought Olympic and Paralympic champions to the heart of the community. The Athletics Superstars in Gladstone event welcomed employees and their families, members of the Gladstone Athletics Club, Trinity College students, and Special Olympics participants for a day dedicated to skill-building, motivation, and celebrating the art of running, jumping, and throwing.
The day offered a unique opportunity for participants to learn directly from some of the world’s best athletes. Jessica Hull, Olympic 1500m Silver Medallist, shared expert running tips and wowed attendees with her incredible speed. Vanessa Low, Paralympic Long Jump Gold Medallist, coached long jump techniques and showcased her record-breaking prowess. Matthew Denny, Olympic Discus Bronze Medallist, led throwing clinics and demonstrated his unmatched precision and strength. Brandon Starc, Commonwealth Games High Jump Gold Medallist, taught high jump techniques, inspiring with his gravity-defying leaps.
