24 Aug BOOK REVIEW – Camps Australia Wide 8
Camps Australia Wide 8: the ultimate guide for the budget and freedom conscious traveller by Philip & Cathryn Fennell
I have recently done the lap of Australia and took this book with me. While I do have the wiki camps app on my phone it was not always accessible due to phone service being unavailable. This is where this book came into its own! I could just open to the State I was currently in and look at the map from where we had come from to where we thought we would get to that day, to stop for the night. The book showed us caravan parks as well as free camp spots.
Camps Australia Wide gives information about points of interest for areas in the maps section as well as distances between towns. Dump points for each state are also listed in the book. It has a legend of icons that let you know what each campsite/caravan park has available, such as toilets, showers, shade, pets allowed, etc. The names of the highways are listed and whether they are sealed or not, along with contact details for seasonal roads.
Altogether this book was invaluable on a very long road trip!
