05 Nov Boyne Smelters gives community BBQ trailer to Boyne Tannum Men’s Shed
Sausages are on the menu after the handover of a BBQ Trailer from Boyne Smelters Limited (BSL) to the Boyne Tannum Men’s Shed. The transportable BBQ trailer will allow the Men’s Shed to conduct fundraising activities and support an income stream for the non-for-profit social club.
In 2015, BSL engaged the Men’s Shed to project-manage and construct a BSL community BBQ trailer for use at local fundraising activities.
With the program now complete, ownership of the trailer will be transferred to the Men’s Shed for their ongoing use and management within the Boyne Tannum community.
BSL has been a proud partner of the Boyne Tannum Men’s shed for more than seven years, supporting the group to establish a workshop and funding streams to allow the group to grow. The Men’s Shed is a community-based organisation focused on completing meaningful projects in the Boyne Tannum area. Practical and social activities enjoyed by members have offered a much-needed men’s health and wellbeing service to the community.
BSL interim general manager Leigh Staines said “BSL is proud to be associated with Boyne Tannum Men’s Shed and we are very pleased this donation will continue to assist the group with a sustainable income stream.”
Boyne Tannum Men’s Shed president, Rick Bichsel thanked BSL for their long standing support in the development of the group, project collaboration and in their fundraising efforts. Mr Bichsel said “We look forward to continuing to work with BSL for the betterment of our local community and we greatly appreciate their generous donation of the BBQ trailer.”
