08 Apr Business Blooms
Local giftware and homeware business Ginger Says is currently going through a transformation, expanding into artificial floral design.
Owner of Ginger Says Michelle Wilson was born and raised in the Gladstone Region, living here since she was six years old.
Michelle bought the business around eighteen years ago and has seen Ginger Says through many business transformations.
“Around four years ago we did our first artificial floral design for a wedding and it went extremely well! So we started to take more orders for weddings and by the end of the year, we had provided flowers for twenty-six weddings,” Michelle said.
After her first year, Michelle saw huge growth in floral arrangement orders, receiving double the amount of orders the following year.
“This year (so far) we have around one hundred orders and we are sending them all over Australia. Currently, we are looking at sending orders overseas as we have done a number of arrangements for a resort in Fiji.”
“We are getting a lot of enquiries from people overseas, it’s kind of just exploded!” Michelle said.
When Michelle was asked why she thinks her artificial floral arrangements are such a hit she said, “I think it’s because we make them so realistic, and I believe that we are really good at it. I don’t think there are many people who do the style that we do.”
Ginger Says has been providing their beautiful floral arrangements to mostly weddings but has also done engagements, baby showers, corporate events and even whole houses.
When asked what sort of arrangements they can do the team at Ginger Says said, “It’s so diverse there are so many different things that we do, we do pot arrangements, we do art arrangements that hang on walls. That’s the great thing about artificial flowers they can go anywhere, they can do anything.”
If you would like to order one of the beautiful arrangements from Ginger Says Michelle said the best way to place an order is either by coming in-store or sending the team a message on Facebook messenger.
If you have any ideas or inspiration for the design you require make sure to bring or send them in.
