Chanel College Musicians ready for State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP)

It is an exciting time for Chanel College music students, as the shep selections have been announced.

Each year, Queensland Conservatorium Griffiths University, in partnership with North Rockhampton State High School, offers a wonderful opportunity to young musician from 49 schools in the region. Two very exciting programs have been announced for March, SHEP Capricornia and SHEP Middle School. These programs are an intensive two and a half days of music, bringing together a performance on Sunday, offering regional school musicians a wonderful opportunity to advance their musical skills.

SHEP Capricornia was held on the 12-14 March, which included 155 secondary school students from 31 schools, from which 5 students from Chanel College were selected. Vocal students, Isabelle Asplet and Aurora McBride, Strings students, Caitlin Girdler and Marifeil Romero and Brass Instrument student, Jade McErlain.

SHEP Middle School will be held from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 March. 211 students will be involved from 42 schools, with an amazing 19 students selected from Chanel College.
