The Chanel Junior girls team clinched victory in the Central Queensland Regional Final of the 2024 StreetSmarts AFLQ Schools Cup, defeating Emmaus College 23-3 in a remarkable display of skill and teamwork. The match, held at Clinton Park, showcased brilliant performances across the field, propelling the team to the North Queensland Championships in Townsville later this month.
From the start, the Chanel team demonstrated their prowess and unity. Key contributors to the victory included Gabby, London, and Imogen, each scoring a goal, solidifying the team’s offensive strength. Brooke, Ziggi, and Gabby were recognised as Chanel’s best players in the final, highlighting their exceptional play and contributions to the team’s success. Gabby’s outstanding performance earned her the Player of the Match title, an accolade presented by AFL Capricornia Development Officer Scott Smithwick, who awarded her a medal in recognition of her efforts.
