07 Dec Christmas in the City – 2017
We had so much fun last year we can’t wait to celebrate again for Christmas in the City in 2017! The Gladstone CBD Entertainment Precinct will burst into life with a huge Christmas in the City Community Event!
Being held on Sunday afternoon the 17th of December with three Carols Services in the GECC Auditorium Theatre, Hampers of Hope presented by the Salvation Army, Children’s gifts and Street Party, this year’s event will be incredible for our region and local families!
Pastor Aaron Bachmann of Lifestyle Church says, “through the generosity of our Salvation Army, along with our local Christian churches the entire event is FREE including your food, fun and entertainment! Our people have been so passionate and willing, so together we decided to make this event happen again in 2017!”
“People need to book their tickets through the GECC box office, to secure your time & seats for the Carols Services. Children’s gifts will also be given away following each Carols Service to all children ticket holders.”
“This is just one way the churches of Gladstone can come together and put on this event to bring joy, peace and message of hope during this Christmas season. No matter what kind of year people have had, our aim is to support and ‘love on’ our community in ways that are special for all to enjoy. No one is excluded because of the cost, their circumstances or financial position!”
The Carols Services in the GECC Auditorium Theatre are being held at 3 pm | 4.30pm | 6 pm.
“Last year the feedback was incredible and the 40-minute Carols Service was a highlight to so many! You will have to be quick to reserve your seats as I know they are going fast!”
“If you don’t happen to get a ticket, families are still welcome to join the street party and festivities all free of charge throughout the Entertainment Centre Precinct. The street party will open from 3 pm – 7 pm with heaps of fun for the family to enjoy together!”
“We are so grateful for the backing of local organisations within our community, along with the 150 people who volunteer their time to make this event great! Our funding is primarily carried by the local churches and we appreciate the Gladstone Region Council, Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre and generosity of this community who support these kinds of events.”
“Lock it in and join the thousands who will come together and celebrate! Bring the whole family down for this wonderful free event, they are going to love it, said Ps. Aaron. We can’t wait to welcome YOU and your family to Christmas in the City 2017!”
Note: The area of Goondoon Street (from Roseberry St to Yarroon St) will be closed from 12 pm – 8 pm, this will allow for the safe set-up/pack-up of the event. There will be strictly no vehicular movement between 3 pm – 7 pm unless in the case of an emergency.
