CLEAN UP AUSTRALIA DAY | HOW YOU CAN HELP IN THE GLADSTONE REGION!

CLEAN UP AUSTRALIA DAY | HOW YOU CAN HELP IN THE GLADSTONE REGION!

Slip on some shoes, slop on some sunscreen, slap on a hat and pull on some gloves! It’s Clean Up Australia Day, and it’s your chance to help!

Clean Up Australia Day is Australia’s largest community-based environmental event aimed at cleaning up, fixing up and conserving our environment. Each year local businesses and members of the community are encouraged to make a positive contribution to improving the local environment while raising awareness about the impact of rubbish. The main Clean Up Australia Day community event this year will be held on Sunday, 3 March 2019.

This year Conservation Volunteers Australia and Tangaroa Blue Foundation in partnership with Boyne Island Lions, Gladstone Regional Council & Boyne Island Smelters Ltd are seeking the support of all local community groups and volunteers to assist in cleaning up Lilley’s Beach. All volunteers and community groups are welcome, all equipment and beach access transport provided plus free BBQ will be provided after by the Boyne Island Lions. Registration for this event opens at 12.30pm with the clean up scheduled between 12.30pm and 3.30pm.

This project is supported by Fitzroy Basin Association Inc., through funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program.
