Gladstone will soon play host to some of Australia’s most acclaimed comedians in a celebration of cultural diversity and pure comedic genius.
Simon Taylor will join this outstanding lineup of Australian comedians later this month.
“I feel so lucky to be touring with the funniest people in the country. I can’t wait to see how audiences react. When I’m not on stage, I’m going to sneak into the crowd and enjoy the show too,” he said.
The comedian, who recently performed on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, said that one of the most comforting things about comedy is that people across different countries tend to laugh at the same things.
“Jokes about family, friends, travel, technology, culture and personal life are all pretty universal,” said Simon.
“It’s one of my favourite things about this job, that I can relate to people across an array of cultures.”
When he got the recent call to perform for Jimmy Fallon, Simon was on his honeymoon in the Greek Islands.
“I had to ask my wife if we could cut our trip short so we could fly immediately to New York. Luckily, she was even more excited than me!”
Simon is excited to be returning to Regional Queensland, and said that he has many fond memories of performing as a young comedian at the Cultural Festival in Townsville.
