Those lucky enough to have scored a corporate box seat for the clash between Gold Coast Titans and Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles at Marley Brown Oval on Sunday (Apr 8) will enjoy a level of airconditioned comfort never experienced at the ground before thanks to the Gladstone Airport Corporation (GAC).
GAC has sponsored the installation of air-conditioners for all 10 corporate boxes in the Marley Brown Oval grandstand, an improvement that will help the venue and the Gladstone Region to attract future major events.
“The funding shows an ongoing commitment by the airport board to give back to the community in ways that will help secure future events at the oval, subsequently providing economic stimulus for the area and building social capital within this great region that we call home,” Gladstone Airport Corporation Chief Executive Officer Peter Friel said.
Gladstone Region Councillor Rick Hansen said the GAC’s support for the Titans-Sea Eagles encounter signaled its confidence in the region’s continued development.
“Marley Brown Oval has hosted a number of large sporting and entertainment events in the past and the prospect of attracting more big events is boosted by improvements made to the facility,” Cr. Hansen said.
