In a thrilling turn of events, Bill Grundon who proudly represented The Central Coast Car Club, has emerged as the 2023 National Khanacross Champion.

His exceptional skills, determination and unwavering dedication have propelled him to the pinnacle of this fiercely competitive motorsport championship.

This remarkable achievement is a testament to his passion for racing and the countless hours of hard work put into honing his craft.

“I entered the Australian Khanacross Championships, piloting my 2000 Mitsubishi Lancer in the fiercely competitive B-class category,” explained Bill.

“I achieved success in my class and secured the overall victory from all the participating cars. During the Saturday races on the bitumen track, I secured a second place finish,”

“On Sunday, we tackled two challenging dirt tracks where I managed to gain a significant advantage over my opponents who fell behind. Notably, we welcomed participants from out of town with attendees joining us from as far as Sydney and the Gold Coast,” shared Bill.

“I was honoured to receive The Khanacross Championship award in recognition of my performance over the course of the two days!”

“It was an incredibly surreal experience and I relished the competition within my own class. I’m overjoyed to have had such tremendous support from my brother throughout the event too,” said Bill.

“All in all, it was a fantastic event for our club with strong support from our local club members. The Young Veterans Association played a vital role in managing the canteen throughout the weekend, contributing to the success of this wonderful club event. I take immense pride in being a part of such a warm and compassionate club.”
