In a moment of pride and achievement, Gladstone Regional Council (GRC) won two prestigious awards at the 2024 LGMA Awards for Excellence, held in Brisbane on Thursday, May 23rd. The LGMA Awards for Excellence celebrate the best local government initiatives across the state, recognising the unique environments and communities served by local governments.
GRC competed in two categories—Community Shaping and Workplace Wellbeing—and emerged victorious in both, triumphing in a competitive field. The council’s ongoing Culture Journey initiative secured the Workplace Wellbeing award, while the state-leading First Nations Fire Officer initiative earned the Community Shaping award of excellence.
