Name; Sue Churchill
Where do you volunteer?
Welcoming Intercultural Neighbours (WIN)
How long have you been volunteering?
“I applied in November last year and started that same month.”
What do you do at WIN?
“I started in data-entry and have now progressed to projects after I attended the Volunteer Workshop. I’m currently working with other volunteers on some very exciting projects for the Gladstone community.”
How did you hear about WIN?
“I found it on the Gladstone Council volunteering website.”
What is your favourite thing about volunteering? Why did you choose WIN?
“I wanted to do something that I thought was worthwhile and that would have an impact. I’ve always supported cultural diversity, and I felt WIN was a wonderful organisation that aligned with my own values.”
What would you say to encourage others to volunteer?
“It’s a wonderful organisation. The people I have met are wonderful, helpful and like-minded. If you’re looking to make a difference, just do it – you are needed.”
