“I achieved the qualifying total for the opportunity to compete for Australia by lifting 155kg!” exclaimed Ella.
“Luck was on my side, as I secured a spot among the top two girls in the 71kg body weight youth category for Australia which led to my selection,”
“The competition took place in Apia which is Samoa’s capital and it went over three full days of awesome competition, from Thursday through to Saturday. My turn to compete was on the Friday!” said Ella.
“I remember feeling over the MOON, when I found out the news! When I shared the news with my sister, we were both squealing and jumping up and down like little girls because we were so excited,”
“A highlight for me personally, would have to be participating in the 75kg snatch and the 98kg clean and jerk which was really exciting,” recalled Ella.
“The Australian team were also there and a couple of friends I met through crossfit were also competing, so I felt a lot more comfortable seeing other familiar and friendly faces.”
