QGC presents Inspiring Resilient Women

Shell’s QGC business and Gladstone Engineering Alliance (GEA) are hosting an International Women’s Day event on March 10. ‘Inspiring Resilient Women’ will include a high-tea style lunch and a special guest speaker, triple Olympian and stroke survivor Sally Callie. Importantly, money raised through ticket sales and event raffle will assist Gladstone Women’s Health Centre.

With over 130 tickets booked to date, you won’t want to miss out on this beautiful International Women’s Day celebration. Be sure to book today as tickets will not be available at the door.

Shell’s QGC business LNG plant manager Peter Norman said:

“This event is a wonderful opportunity for Shell QGC to join with our community in celebrating International Women’s Day.

“Industry has traditionally struggled to achieve a gender balance in our teams. While we’re still not there, the good news is the tide is turning, in part, thanks to local STEM education, and apprenticeship and traineeship programs, which encourage more women to pursue careers that provide them with opportunities to work on Curtis Island.

“We are also working to grow awareness of the remarkable diversity of local LNG opportunities. Beyond the operational and maintenance roles typically associated with working on an LNG plant, there are also exciting opportunities across teams such as health and safety, engineering, procurement, marine, training, human resources, information management and environment.”

Inspiring Resilient Women will take place at Yaralla Sports Club on Tuesday, March 10 between 11:00am and 1:30pm.
