Student from Gladstone rewarded for academic excellence

 

Local winner and Toolooa State High School graduate Kaitlyn Read won the prestigious TJ Ryan Memorial Medal and Scholarship which is awarded to only ten high achieving year 12 graduates from across the state. These awards recognise and encourage talented young Queenslanders interested in teaching.

Member for Gladstone Glenn Butcher said he was encouraged by the quality of students pursuing a career in teaching.  “We know how important it is to get quality teachers in our classrooms,” Mr Butcher said.“ “I’d like to congratulate Kaitlyn on winning this award, it is a fantastic achievement and is evidence of an extraordinary effort through high school.
