Tannum bank makes donation to support local girl guides

Employees from Tannum Sand’s Commonwealth Bank Branch have donated $500 to the Boyne/ Tannum Iluka Girl Guides as part of a nationwide donation program.

The branch’s Customer Service Specialist Lianne McGrath said ger team was “pleased to support the great work” of the local Guides.

““More than ever, communities across Australia are feeling the effects of lockdowns and other pandemic-related impacts, so this is one small way we can champion those local organisations who continue to do good work within our community,” she said.

“The Boyne Tannum Iluka Girl Guides are a wonderful part of our local community and they are planning on using the donation to produce new signage for the front of their Girl Guide Hut.”

Commonwealth Bank is committed to driving positive change within the communities in which it serves to make a difference locally and for all Australians.

As part of this, the bank has again pledged to donate a further $400,000 nationally, to recognise those organisations that make a difference to the communities in which they operate.

Each Commonwealth Bank branch and customer-facing team has been allocated $500 to donate to causes important to their local community.

For over 100 years Girl Guides groups around Queensland have provided non-formal education programs designed to create leaders of tomorrow by building on strengths and personal skills development.
