Miriam Vale residents can now breathe a sigh of relief as the Gladstone Regional Council officially lifts water restrictions, effective immediately. The decision, made by the Gladstone Regional Council Drought Management Team, comes in the wake of recent rainfall that significantly bolstered the water level of Baffle Creek, the primary water source for Miriam Vale.
With the creek’s water level comfortably surpassing the trigger levels for any imposed restrictions, the community is no longer constrained by water usage limitations. Acting Mayor Kahn Goodluck expressed gratitude to the Miriam Vale community for their prompt adherence to the 180 litres per person per day water restrictions, which were implemented on December 6, 2023.
