Gladstone is poised to become a national leader in clean industry and renewable manufacturing but new research warns that delays in energy delivery and infrastructure could put billions of dollars and thousands of jobs at risk.
According to Powering Up Gladstone, a new regional insights report by Beyond Zero Emissions (BZE), the region could unlock $7.8 billion in investment, create 11,000 local jobs, and generate an additional $2 billion in annual revenue through the development of a Renewable Energy Industrial Precinct. However, only 12% of the renewable energy capacity needed for this transformation is currently operational or under construction.
