Milly Sharpe Shines at the Oceania Athletics Championships

On June 7th, 2024, Milly Sharpe proudly donned the green and gold to represent Australia at the Oceania Athletics Championships in Suva, Fiji. Competing in the U18 5000m racewalk event, Milly showcased her exceptional talent by clocking an impressive time of 27:06.81, earning a well-deserved silver medal.

Milly’s participation in the Championships was not just about competing; it was a full international athletics experience and intense training leading up to the event. “Following nationals in Adelaide, Milly entered into a tough six-week training block with a week of tapering in Fiji. This involved two sprint sessions per week, racing parkrun and three longer walks.” Pete Sharpe, Milly’s father states.
