The heat was on for both Gladstone United FC and Joint Task Force 629 as they battled it out on the field in a friendly game of soccer.
Both teams were in high spirits, and the atmosphere was electric as players fought to score over two games. The first game was an evenly matched 2:2 draw, but the second game ended 2:1 with United scraping through to victory at the end. Many members who wouldn’t have normally played alongside each other had the opportunity to compete together, and the Army team, consisting of many different units including logistics, artillery, engineers and reconnaissance teams, even had United FC members join their team as reserve players.
