The Wooderson Solar Farm is set to become one of Central Queensland’s largest renewable energy developments, marking a significant investment in the region’s future. The project, a 450-megawatt MW solar photovoltaic PV facility, will be located approximately 40 kilometres south-west of Gladstone and 20 kilometres west of Calliope.
With a capital investment of $1.9 billion, the development will include not only a large-scale solar farm but also a battery energy storage system designed to support a reliable power supply. Supporting infrastructure will feature access tracks, underground electrical reticulation cables, a substation, and a connection to the existing electricity grid.
