Art Awards: Artist Talks

Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum

Four Award winning local artists will feature at this year’s Art Awards: Artist Talks, from 10.30am, Saturday 26 November 2016. This FREE program is run in conjunction with ‘The 41st Rio Tinto Martin Hanson Memorial Art Awards 2016′ which are currently on display at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum until December 8.

This year’s speakers include:

  • Christine Holden: Winner of Section 3: Three Dimensional & Fibre Works, The Gladstone Ports Corporation Award, with her work, ‘Jellyfish Blues’

  • Ellie Tregaskis: Winner of The Pieter Groen-int-woud Memorial Young Emerging Artist Award, Sponsored by Multitrade, with her work, ‘Death, what’s next?’

  • Sharilee Marr: Winner of The Local Murri Artist Award, Sponsored by Elizabeth and Leo Zussino, with her work, ‘Mining Matters’

  • Marci Russo: Winner of The Gail Sellers Local Artist Award, with her work, ‘Pa Trilogy’

These four talented artists will each present a fascinating discussion on their individual, preferred techniques, backgrounds and creative processes.  The talks aim to highlight these local artist’s practices, while a delivering meaningful and engaging program to the community.

All are welcome to attend the FREE Art Awards: Artist Talks, with audience questions encouraged.
