11 Feb Bowling alley rolling into Gladstone
Gladstone is set to have a bowling alley roll in thanks to a $4 million redevelopment upgrade to the city’s Central Lane Hotel.
This will be Gladstone’s first bowling alley since the Bowling Centre at Gladstone-Bernaraby Rd closed in July 2012.
The new bowling alley will be licenced and located on the top floor of the Central Lane Hotel, making it a destination for the whole family to enjoy!
The ground floor of the establishment will be re-designed along with the current gaming area to accommodate the new lanes, with the kitchen/back of house area relocating downstairs. In addition, there will be a new outdoor bar area constructed along with a new car park, which will provide disabled access to the hotel, situated on the block next door.
The upgrade will have several positive outcomes for Gladstone, by creating a recreational activity within a licenced venue, through the focusing on local trade, increasing employment opportunities for locals, and establishing a family-friendly venue that is accessible across a broad age range from 9 to 90 years of age.
The renovations began in November 2020 and are expected to wrap up and open this April.
