Fight for Frankie
Last Sunday morning at 8am lots of very generous Gladstone community members gathered at Yaralla for a Charity Bootcamp. It was in the name of Frankie. Francesca was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in late February 2016. AML is a rare and aggressive leukaemia. She is a beautiful 3 year old girl who is fighting every day to beat this awful disease. Her family have spent 6 months by her hospital bedside with her undergoing chemo, transplants and treatments. Duncan and Kate are at Frankie‘s parents who have spent 24/7 by her side during her treatment. This means Duncan has not been working in Gladstone at all since Frankie‘s treatment. They swap shifts at the hospital with one beside Frankie and the other at home with daughter Camilla.

Some great results from the Charity Bootcamp!
Kerry Myers from Red Cross Gladstone attended and said “We had a wonderful morning at Fight for Frankie Charity Bootcamp. 17 new donors interested in blood donation and bone marrow registry, all made appointments and 7 existing donors made appointments and are coming in to check are they already on the registry. Our thoughts Fisght for frankie 1are with you all.”?
Leasha Edwards has a beautiful message for Frankie and Family – Katie, may you and Duncan find a moment to hug each other tight. I’m out of words, it’s just a living nightmare you guys are enduring and I only wish that there really are such thing as miracles. The feeling at the fundraiser in Gladstone was more than heart warming, the energy and emotion hopefully reached you guys and helps you through another day. Give darling Frankie a kiss for me, not a second in my day isn’t without your little warrior in my mind. Xxoo Love and strength.
Kate and Duncan had a message for Gladstone. A massive shout out and thank you to all who made it along to the Gladstone fundraiser. We hope you all had a great time, joined the bone marrow registry and spent some time having fun in the sun! We appreciate the amazing generosity of people. I can’t believe the kindness extended to us.

Gladstone News is a proud supporter and we will continue to help the family fundraise through GoFund me page. Currently $46,533 raised.
