Svalbard: the Land of Dreams is a photographic collection exploring the natural landscape and fragments of the industrial past on Svalbard, a remote Norwegian island in the Arctic Ocean. Svalbard has a very interesting background involving two distinctive nationalities, Norwegians and Russians. For both coal mining has been the leading industry for decades. Elena’s work captures the extraordinary natural beauty of this place while evoking thoughts on how humanity impacts nature through industry.
Elena, a self-taught photographer, has dedicated a significant amount of time to mastering both the creative and technical facets of photography. Her commitment to sharpening her skills independently speaks to her passion for the craft. The captivating images she captured date back to 2017 and have garnered recognition through exhibitions in both private and public galleries. Notable venues featuring her work include Photopia Studio, the Banana Shire Regional Art Gallery, and the Blue Mirror Gallery.
Elena’s photographic journey reflects her dedication to the art form. The diverse display of her work in esteemed galleries underscores the universal appeal and impact of her imagery, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the unique perspectives captured through her lens.
