Tannum Sands State High School’s Braeden Andrews and Jacob Hoger have emerged victorious at the 2024 Bowls Queensland Secondary Schools Cup, held earlier in August at Club Pine Rivers. Their impressive performance saw them secure first place after winning eight of their nine rounds with a commanding margin of 30 shots.
The competition was intense, with the local team from St Benedict’s College, consisting of Liam Abela and Mitch Hagan, finishing as the runners-up. They achieved seven wins with a notable margin of 65 shots. Last year’s runner-up team from Stretton State College, featuring Noah McCandles and Thomas Brehmer, took third place, also with seven wins, but with a margin of 62 shots.
